Monday June 8th (1-5pm) and Tuesday June 9th (9am-1.30pm)

Venue: Department of Social Medicine,
Canynge Hall, 39 Whatley Road,
University of Bristol, Bristol BS8 2PS

Dr. Jon Heron - jon.heron@bristol.ac.uk
Dr. Kate Tilling - kate.tilling@bristol.ac.uk

First announcement and call for presentations.

This meeting is open to all researchers currently using Mplus. Mplus is a flexible statistical package popular with those interested in modelling with latent variables e.g. CFA, structural equation modelling, growth modelling, etc.

Keynote speakers:

Growth modeling with non-ignorable missing data using the Mplus latent variable framework.
(Bengt Muthén, via audio link-up)

Finite mixture models to look at the causal effects of process variables (therapeutic alliance and fidelity to the therapeutic model) in RCTs of psychological interventions
(Graham Dunn, Manchester)

Latent growth curve models, multilevel models and marginal models for longitudinal data analysis in Mplus.
(Yu-Kang Tu and Mark Gilthorpe, Leeds)

Further spaces in the programme are still available. Please email the scientific organizers if you are interested in presenting, indicating whether you wish to give the following:
1. a 30-minute talk (followed by a 10-minute discussion), or
2. a 15-minute talk (followed by a 5-minute discussion)

Presentation topics might include
· case studies of teaching using Mplus
· applications using Mplus - e.g. medical, psychological, education · critiques/examples of different models - e.g. latent class / IV / latent transition / growth modelling / missing data / SEM · reviews of analytical issues, and · comparisons between Mplus and other software packages.

Registration fees: £40 for 2 days, £20 for one day, free for PhD students.

Deadline for registration: 22nd May 2009

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
