Hi, I'm just embarking on my analysis using Mplus. I have many scales that are reverse scored. Can you please advise whether Mplus will reverse the scoring of specified scales (7-point likert) or will I have to do it manually? Gerry |

Mplus does not reverse scores. You would need to use the DEFINE command to do this. |

Hello! One of my models needed to add two reverse indicators. Trying to follow one of your posts, i used this syntax: "DEFINE: SBPN13r=8-SPBN13r; SPBN19r=8-SPBN19r;" However, warning message do not recognise one of the reverse indicators. ex: "ERROR Undefined variable used in transformation: SPBN13R". Thank you for your attention, |

Note that you have a different name on the LHS and RHS: SBPN13r=8-SPBN13r; |

Yes!...they seemed the same...thanks! Meanwhile MPlus do not know were to find the new variables..but i already wrote them after the previous ones in the "variable" command + in the "use variable" and defined the syntax for reverse indicators... SBPN13r=8-SBPN13r; SPBN19r=8-SBPN19r; Nonetheless: "*** ERROR in DEFINE command Error in assignment statement for MISSING." Thank you! |
