Hello,

I was wondering if you could please provide any guidance or reference regarding an adequate sample size for an ESEM with 12 different items. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hard to give general advice on that because it depends on so many things - including the number of factors and whether the items are binary, ordinal, or continuous. Generally speaking, with continuous items N=200 is often sufficient.

Hello,

I am using an ESEM, to regress 4 continuous IV's on a 2-factor EFA. I was wondering if you could please provide any guidance or reference regarding an adequate sample size. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

A very rough approach is to have at least 5 observations per parameter in the model. So it depends on the number of observed factor indicators.
