I know this is a really basic question. The column that is labeled EST/S.E. I have sometimes reported this as a Critical Ratio, more recently as a t, and now I have a statistical editor suggesting that this be reported as a Z. What is the preferred terminology? Thank you!

People quibble over this. I think reporting it as a z score is acceptable.

To examine the significance of the parameters, I wonder which table I should look at (onetailed vs. twotailed). I am wondering whether we should look at the onetailed z table since we know the direction of the z value(i.e., positive or negative). For example: z=1.645 for p=.05 in the onetailed table. Thank you!

Your hypotheses would tell you whether you should use a one or twotailed test.
