Hello, I am doing the simulations for mixture IRT models. The label switching often happens. How could I avoid the label switching while running mixture IRT models? They way I was figuring out the problem of label switching is to look the estimates of mean then infer. |

You should use the population values as start values in the MODEL command and also use the default STARTS=0. See also the 2011 SEM article by Tueller et al on this very issue. |

Thank you so much for this answer. The starts=0 was vital for me; I had tried using the exact starting values but kept having classes switch despite that. |
