Hello,
I am doing the simulations for mixture IRT models. The label switching often happens.
How could I avoid the label switching while running mixture IRT models?
They way I was figuring out the problem of label switching is to look the estimates of mean then infer.

You should use the population values as start values in the MODEL command and also use the default STARTS=0.

Thank you so much for this answer. The starts=0 was vital for me; I had tried using the exact starting values but kept having classes switch despite that.
