I am trying to implement a regression auxiliary model combined with latent class regression as specified in section 3.2. of Mplus Web note 21. (Oct 7, 2014). I have one covariate (sex), one latent class (3 classes), and one distal outcome (violrec3). I am trying to run the first step and I can't seem to get the known class function to work as specified in 8.8. I keep getting this error:

*** ERROR in ANALYSIS command
TYPE=MIXTURE is not available for multiple group analysis.

Here are the relevant portions of my syntax:

Class = c(3) cg (2);
knownclass = cg (sex = 0 sex = 1);

Auxiliary = violrec3 sex;

Data: file=1.dat;

Analysis: Type = mixture;
Starts = 0;

Savedata: File = 2.dat; Save = bchweights;

model:

%overall%

%c#1%;

%c#2%;

%c#3%;
