The capability to estimate time scores within the latent growth curve model is very helpful. Now suppose the freely estimated time scores are of substantive interests, are there ways to relate them to covariates?

For one thing, I know that multi-group and mixture analysis can be used to compare freely estimated time scores among groups; but it becomes increasingly less feasible as the number of groups increases, which prohibits it from being generalized to continuous variable situation.

Are there ways to handle this? Thanks!

Take a look at Example 5.23 and see if that can be used to accomplish what you are trying to do. Otherwise, I don't think it can be done.
