Dr. Muthen,
In example 10.9, you gave starting values for residual variance (c#1*1) and for means of ib and sb in between part [ib*3 sb*1]. These values come from your previous analysis or these are suggested values for this kind of analysis? Unlike, in part of parameter default setting, for multiple class analysis, means and intercepts of continuous latent variables are fixed at zero in the last class.

The values would be obtained from previous analyses. And yes, means and intercepts of continuous latent variables are fixed at zero in the last class.
