To read up on pattern-mixture modeling, see, e.g.,

Hedeker, D. & Gibbons, R.D. (1997). Application of random-effects pattern-mixture models for missing data in longitudinal studies. Psychological Methods, 2, 64-78.

which can be found at:

http://www.uic.edu/classes/bstt/bstt513/PattMixPaper.pdf

or alternatively

Hedeker, D. & Rose, J.S. (2000). The natural history of smoking: A pattern-mixture random-effects regression model. Multivariate applications in substance use research, J. Rose, L. Chassin, C. Presson & J. Sherman (eds.), Hillsdale, N.J.: Erlbaum, pp. 79-112.

For latent class pattern-mixture modeling, see

Roy, J. (2003). Modeling longitudinal data with nonignorable dropouts using a latent dropout class model. Biometrics, 59, 829-836.

Although it is not possible for the Mplus team to look at individual solutions, the Mplus course at Johns Hopkins University on Friday August 22, 2008 will present both conventional pattern-mixture and latent class pattern-mixture solutions for this exercise.
