We are currently working with a data set from a longitudinal study of marriage. We would like to examine the intercept/slope for all partners, and we need to take into account that the partners are married, and thus not independent. Any help in figuring out how to make this work will be appreciated.

See the Topic 8 course handout starting at Slide 54 where the multivariate modeling of family members is described. This sounds like just what you need.
