Hello, I am looking for some input on how to handle NMAR data on one variable in a single time point (cross-sectional) research study.

In my study, if participants were not engaging in a certain behaviour at all, they were instructed to skip a scale that contained items asking WHY they were engaging in this behaviour (because it would not make sense to ask them why if they were not doing it). Thus, the missing data to me sounds like it is NMAR, but I am having difficulty finding any information on how to model the missing data when the data is not longitudinal.

Any input on how to handle NMAR data on Mplus in a single time point study would be much appreciated.

Take a look at Heckman modeling as explained in our YouTube video of the Topic 11 Short Course on our website. See also our RMA book.
