Hi, my question is about the significance of the path X->Y1 in the path model X->Y1->Y2->y3. X is categorical and binary; Y1 is continuous. I use ML. The significance level I get for the path X->Y1 is 0.10, two-tailed. However, if I do a simple t-test, I get a significance of 0.15, two-tailed. Why could this be?

I'm not sure how you are getting the t-test. When I run in Mplus the full model you describe and then just y1 ON x, I get the same ratio and p-values for y1 ON x.
