Hello,

I am running a CFA on a psychological assessment. The fit was poor, so I modified it so that two pairs of items (in the same factor) have covarying residuals.

What would this mean in terms of using the assessment? How does this impact the scoring and interpretation of assessment result?

Thank you!!!

Factor scores can still be estimated when there are correlated residuals. For interpretation, you might want to draw on SEMNET.
