I am new in Mplus and learning from scratch. could somebody explain me what does it mean when the error message, after running the model is:

******************************************
*** ERROR
One or more variables have a variance greater than the maximum allowed of 1000000.
Check your data and format statement or rescale the variable(s) using the DEFINE command.
********************************************

The DEFINE command as I understand is to create/transform variables, I do not wish to transform any of my variables.
In my model I do have 12 variables from which only 3 are constant. The rest are dummies.

would this be the reason of the error message? How to solve it?

thank you

You may be reading your data incorrectly by having blanks in a free format data set of having more variables names than columns in the data set. If you can't figure this out, send the output, data set, and your license number to support@statmodel.com.
