Hello, Is it possible to run an ESEM analysis on ordinal data using the estimator MLR? It seems to work if I don't specify "CATEGORICAL", but when I do, I got the following message: "EFA factors are not allowed with ALGORITHM=INTEGRATION." Cheers. |

No, you cannot use maximum likelihood with categorical outcomes for ESEM. |

Hi Dr. Muthen, Is it possible to calculate AIC, BIC for ESEM models with categorical data if MLR is not an option? I am asking because an article reported AIC, BIC for different ESEM models even their data are categorical and they were using estimator = MLR. |

You need ML or MLR to get AIC and BIC. |
