Intercept in multiple group

Message/Author

Hi! I have an additional question. Is the intercept in multiple group analysis for a given variable the value for the group scored 1? I know that the estimate is the mean difference between the two groups. B = .413 If dependent variable is depression. Moderator is ethnicity (1=latino; 0 = nonlatino). Intercept = .123 Is .123 the value for latino? In which case, I'll then calculate the value for nonlatino? I'm not sure if latino (scored 1) is the reference group. Thanks for your help.

The intercept is the mean for nonLatinos. The mean for Latinos is the sum of the intercept and the regression coefficient.
