I've heard that Mplus 3.13 can accommodate within- and between-unit weights via various scaling options (e.g., Pfefferman et al., 1998).

How does one specify these options in Mplus (or is a default scaling option always used) ?

Is it possible to specify separate within- and between-unit weight variables ?

(Do you have an example with actual Mplus script ?).

To do this, first standardize the within weight variable so that the weights within each cluster sum to the cluster size. Then multiply the within weight variable by the between weight variable and use this new weight variable as the weight variable in the Mplus analysis. For further information, see:

Okay; thanks.

So there's no function / subcommand in Mplus that automatically makes these types of conversions ?

No. Not at this time.

Can I know which methods of weighting (i.e., methods A, AI, B, BI, C and D)are currently available in Mplus for multilevel analysis?

What are the methods A, AI, B, BI, C and D?

These are the weighting methods where they have different scaling constants as described in http://statmodel.com/download/webnotes/MplusNote81.pdf

It looks like Section 9 of that paper describes implementation in Mplus. I don't believe this has changed.
