I am a beginning in using M-Plus and GMM. I am following example 10.4 for doing a two-level GMM. I am sorry that I have to ask some very naive questions:

I have problem in compiling the data file. What are the variables "X" and "W" means? Do I need to do some pre-computation for generating these 2 variables? How to do it?

Thank you.

The data for the example are provided. You do not need to do anything to it. The variables x and w are covariates. The variable x is measured on the individual level. The variable w is measured on the cluster level.
