Hello,
I have a large dataset with student University grades. Grades are nested within students (each student has multiple grades). But grades are nested within courses, and students are nested (to some degree) in courses, and courses are nested within students. How might this be handled? Will the following work?

Cluster is student course ;

Thanks.

It sounds like you have a data set where students are the observations, courses are the variables, and grades are the values of the variables. The clustering that comes from students taking several courses is taken into account by multivariate modeling. In your situation, there is no additional clustering. If all students do not take all courses, then they would have missing values for the grades of the courses that they do not take.
