Hello, I have a simulated population generated from a multivariate mixed-effects model. Then, I computed a two-levels factor model on this via MPlus. What I would like to do is then selecting many many simple random samples, and repeating the analysis on these, and then using the factor scores for a further analysis. Can I do this using MPlus?
Thanks.

Angelo

Sounds like you get estimates for a two-level factor model and then draw random samples from this model. That can be done using the Mplus Monte Carlo feature. You cannot use the Monte Carlo feature to generate factor scores.

Thanks for your post. But what I have is a population (generated via a mixed effect model) from where I am selecting many samples. I estimated a two-level factor model on the population, and now I would like to do the same on the samples (SRSWR). I am interested in the factor scores, which I will use for further analysis. I think I cannot do that using only MPlus.

Yes, factor scores are not provided in Mplus Monte Carlo (too much to store).
