Dear Dr. Muthen,

I am a beginner with Mplus and have a question about the following.

At Level 1, I use X to predict Y. I have two Level 2 variables, M1 and M2. I found that both M1 and M2 moderate the relationship between X and Y at Level 1 (i.e., cross-level interactions). I am now considering how to test if M2 mediates the moderating effect of M1 in Mplus.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

I assume you have something like

Within

s | y on x;

Between

s on m1 m2;

Perhaps something like this is what you want instead on Between:

s on m2 m1;

m2 on m1;
