Dear Dr. Muthen,
I am running multilevel SEM but the model cannot converge in Mplus. I am wondering if I can save multilevel factor analysis results first, and then use the saved factors for multilevel analysis? I tried and the results seem fine, but I am not sure if there is any literature support.

| I would not recommend it. We have SEM to avoid such a 2-step approach. Instead, explore why it doesn't converge. |
