Hello,

I`m doing a multilevel (2 level) analysis with a categorical outcome variable.

I have two questions:

1) My intercept only model doesn`t really work. There are always these comment:

THE ESTIMATED BETWEEN COVARIANCE MATRIX COULD NOT BE INVERTED.
COMPUTATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED IN ITERATION 1.
CHANGE YOUR MODEL AND/OR STARTING VALUES.

THE ESTIMATED BETWEEN COVARIANCE MATRIX IS NOT POSITIVE DEFINITE.
COMPUTATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED IN ITERATION 1.

SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE OPTIMIZATION WHEN COMPUTING THE POSTERIOR
DISTRIBUTION. CHANGE YOUR MODEL AND/OR STARTING VALUES.

THE MODEL ESTIMATION DID NOT TERMINATE NORMALLY DUE TO AN ERROR IN THE
COMPUTATION. CHANGE YOUR MODEL AND/OR STARTING VALUES.

Besides this, there is only the estimates colum in the output and my between variance is 0 (like the ICC).

When I add the individual variables to the model (random intercept model), the between variance grows and after adding the kontext variable it sinks a bit.

Do you have any explanation for this?

2) How do I get the value of the different intercepts in the Random Intercept model? Is there a special output command or a plotting comand?

Thank you very much for your help!!

1. Send the output and your license number to support@statmodel.com.
2. Use the SAVE=FSCORES option of the SAVEDATA command.
