I started from k=2 and stopped at k=7, and used LMR test (from tech11) to determine there are 3 classes.

So I reported all the LMR p-values from k=2 to k=7. But my supervisor asked me for LMR when k=1.

Is this even possible? When k=1, k-1 will be 0, so Tech11 will not be used when k=1. Is this correct?

Clarify for you supervisor that the LMR test in the run with 2 classes tests whether 2 are needed or if you can get by using only 1 class (a low p-value points to 2 classes instead of 1). That is probably all he/she wants to know.
