Three latent class variables, crossed |

Is it possible to set up a model with three latent class variables, and have combinations of all of them. Something like: Model model c_1.c_2.c_3: I know that c_1.c_2 is possible (as in example 8.8 in the manual), but I wanted to extend this. In addition, I've been trying to get around this by using a larger number of classes and adding constraints, but I'm not succeeding - do you know if anyone has ever done this? Thanks, Jeremy |

Using three categorical latent variables with the . specification should work. |

Dear Linda, To follow the above question posted by Jeremy, is it possible to specify a new latent class variable which is a combination of two latent class variables? For example, if I have two latent class variables and each has two latent classes, I would like to specify a new latent class variable which has 4 classes as a crossed combination between these two LC variables. Thanks. Ping |

The simplest way is to have one latent class variable with four classes. If you have two with two classes, you can use the . formulation shown in Example 8.14. |
