Hi Linda,

I am estimating a latent growth model for reading and math and then estimating an overall latent growth model for both reading and math using the estimated the intercepts and slopes.

I am wondering how this would be run in Mplus below is how I would think to do it...

model:
mathI1 mathS1 | T1@0...etc
readI2 readS2 | T2@0...etc
AchInt BY mathI1 readI2;
AchSlope BY mathS1 mathS2;
AchInt WITH AchSlope;
[AchInt AchSlope];

Please tell me if I am missing anything.

Thanks,

Lucy

I think you may be thinking about a multiple indicator growth model. See Example 6.14. Your BY statements do not make sense because they are actually part of the | statements. See the description of the BY setups for growth models in Chapter 16 of the user's guide.
