Dear Muthens,

I postet this message on friday last week but maybe it was not forwarded successfully. Please ignore this message if you have already got it.

I try to run a twolevel model with multiple imputation. There are no missing data at level 2 (2 level 2 variables) so I only include level 1 variables in the imputation command:

Data Imputation:
impute = y x1-x5 x6 (c) x7 (c) x8 (c) x9 (c);
save = ex1-4*dat;

Nevertheless, I get the following message:
*** FATAL ERROR
VARIABLE WITH MORE THAN 20 VALUES IS SPECIFIED AS CATEGORICAL DURING IMPUTATION.
PROBLEM INVOLVING VARIABLE w.

What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much in advance
Claudia

Dear Mr Muthen,
thank you very much for your answer. I think I found the problem: In the dataset ("names" command, not "use variables" command) was a variable that was 1 for every participant (because the set I used was a subset). Then I excluded this variable from the dataset I could run the models without problems.
