Is it possible to do MDS or any other forms of spatial analysis in Mplus? If not, are there any plans to include it in future versions? It seems like it would fit within the generalized latent variable framework.

No, but it is on our futures list. Are you interested in any particular kinds of applications?

I am interested in dealing with survey data that doesn't fit well within traditional FA or SEM frameworks (at least, I don't think it so). In the process of developing a solar system-esque structural model of self-concept, and I need to establish a 3-dimensional statistical space which can capture interindividual and intraindividual variability, point estimates, etc. Maybe in time, we could collaborate and my conceptual piece could be the pedagogical paper you use to show how MDS works in Mplus??? lol
