Hi.
I performed an EFA and then I runned an CFA with 8 categorical variables and all load strongly on a single factor (factor loadings range between .795 and .913). the CFI = .977 and TLI = .968, the RMSEA is .183 and the WRMR is 1.127. The Chi square p-value was less than .05 and the sample size is n=407. The residual variance is low in all observed variable. I asked for Modindices and no modification indices above the minimum value. How can I improve my model?

Make sure you get modindices also for the residual covariances among the indicators (the Theta matrix).
