Hi,
taking as a reference the following model
sp on homog;
sp on dens;
LgMthScs on sp;

I want to create a nested model dropping the link dens->sp, is equivalent set it to zero using @0 and to drop it?

As an example, are these models equivalent? if not, in which they differ?

Alternative 1:
sp on homog;

LgMthScs on sp;

Alternative 2:
sp on homog;
sp on dens@0;
LgMthScs on sp;

Thanks!

In Alternative 2, you are saying that dens is part of the model but is unrelated to all the DVs, that is, sp and LgMthScs. In Alternative 1, you are saying nothing about dens.

Thanks Dr. Muthen,
I checked and both alternatives and the outputs gives me the same estimate values, SE, and P-values, and also for the AIC, BIC, also for H0, the # of free parameters, etc of the model also for CFI, etc.
Is there any difference I should take into account, for example, can I compare both of them with the original model using AIC? But is the same when do a model comparison using DIFFTEST?

We need to see both outputs to say - send to Support along with your license number.
