Greetings,

I have estimated two latent factors via ESEM from a set of 10 indicators. I have these latent factors as the outcome of regressions as well (i.e., a MIMIC type model).

This runs well.

However, I wanted to constrains paths so that my predictors of the latent factors are equal (i.e., to test impact on fit) and MPlus seems to be indicating that this cannot be done with the code:

IMPROPER PARAMETER CONSTRAINT FOR EFA MEASUREMENT SPECIFICATION.
(Error Code: 1021)

To be clear, I didn't change anything about the EFA measurement portion of the model. Is what I'm wanting to do not possible?

ESEM transforms the factor regression coefficients based on the EFA rotation and therefore there can be no restrictions on these coefficients.
