I conducted a CFA using Mplus. However, in the results, the correlations among latent variables are quite different from the correlations which I computed using SPSS. What happened? |

How did you compute them in SPSS? |

Hello Dr. Muthen, I need to correlate a second-order latent factor with other study variables (e.g., sex, age, etc) that were not factor analyzed so I can complete the correlation table. I understand that I have to input type=basic under the Analysis command but I only get correlations between indicators and not the latent factors. It is also the same when the analysis command is estimator=ML. How do I obtain the intercorrelations among all study variables? Could you please suggest a fitting syntax to run this analysis? Thank you. |

You would need to include the other study variables in the model and relate the second-order factors to them using the WITH option. Use the STANDARDIZED option in the OUTPUT command to obtain correlations. |
