Hello,
I am calculating a LCA (N=575) with continuous, categorical (dichotomous) and one nominal variable. I always get a warning in the output saying „224 perturbed starting value run(s) did not converge in the initial stage optimizations“ and further
„THE BEST LOGLIKELIHOOD VALUE HAS BEEN REPLICATED. RERUN WITH AT LEAST TWICE THE RANDOM STARTS TO CHECK THAT THE BEST LOGLIKELIHOOD IS STILL OBTAINED AND REPLICATED.THE STANDARD ERRORS OF THE MODEL PARAMETER ESTIMATES MAY NOT BE TRUSTWORTHY FOR SOME PARAMETERS DUE TO A NON-POSITIVE DEFINITE FIRST-ORDER DERIVATIVE PRODUCT MATRIX. THIS MAY BE DUE TO THE STARTING VALUES BUT MAY ALSO BE AN INDICATION OF MODEL NONIDENTIFICATION. THE CONDITION NUMBER IS -0.738D-18. PROBLEM INVOLVING PARAMETER 7.“

The model was calculated anyways.I started at 500:50 iterations and increased it to 1000:100 after the warning appeared. This produced the same results with the same error warning again. I don’t know what I did wrong and cannot find the problem with parameter 7 (it is one of my continuous variables).
What could be the reason for the error? And what's the solution?

Thanks in advance - I would appreciate help a lot!
