Hello, In regard to Mplus Webnotes #21, Version 3 (July 16, 2018) can the manual BCH estimation as described in section 3.2 be applied with binary distal outcomes? thanks |
Yes, by putting the distal on the Categorical list. |

I am trying to predict some nominal distal outcomes (2 binary and 2 nominal variables) in the context of a 4-class model. I need to apply *sampling weights* for the analysis. If I am not mistaken, it looks like none of the methods listed in Tables 6 and 7 of Asparouhov, T., & Muthén, B. (2018) would work for my case. I wonder if there is any better alternative to the traditional multinomial regression for my case. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you. |

You can use the manual BCH approach describes in Section 3 https://www.statmodel.com/examples/webnotes/webnote21.pdf or the manual 3-step approach described in Section 3 http://www.statmodel.com/download/3stepOct28.pdf |
