In most of the applications of DTSA that I have seen, the latent variable that represents the survival function is the DV. Are there any reasons why the survival function could not be used as an IV?

In my analytic situation, not all participants have lived through the period of greatest risk and it seems that a survival function would take this methodological piece into account.

Thanks,
Tom

Yes, the survival latent variable can also be an IV.
