Dear Professors, we are running a twolevel growth model for three visits (coded 0, 1, and 2). Thus, the mean of visits cannot be greater than 1.0.

When we run the unconditional growth model:
ANALYSIS: TYPE IS TWOLEVEL RANDOM;

MODEL: %WITHIN%

s | WTAR ON Visit;

%BETWEEN%
WTAR WITH s;

The mean of Visit is 0.872.

When I add a single covariate (age zeroed (youngest participants is aged 0):

MODEL: %WITHIN%

s | WTAR ON Visit;

%BETWEEN%
WTAR s ON Age_zero;

I get a mean of visits of 1.7.
Since this is not possible, and my data are the same for both models, I am confused as to how or why this has happened.

Thank you, for your assistance.

When you say "mean of Visit", do you mean "mean of s"?

If not, send the 2 outputs and data to Support along with your license number.
