Dear Drs.Muthen,

I have run GMM unconditional models of life satisfaction. Now I have a final 3-class GMM-CI model. I would like to predict life satisfaction class memberships with a count scale.

The count scale is the sum of 4 different traumatic events, with people reporting from 0 (no event experienced) to 4 (all events experienced).

How does Mplus treat count predictors? Do I have to specify extra arguments in the manual three step approach to make Mplus specify the predictor properly as a count scale?

Many thanks,
L.

There is not a clear cut way to use a count variable as a predictor. In Mplus, such a predictor is simply used as a continuous predictor. Maybe you want to break it up into a couple of dummy variables.
