Linda /Bengt I would like to ask a question about the CFA part of a multiple indicator growth model. Does the EFA and CFA step not take into account the nested structure of the data? For example it does not appear that a multilevel factor analysis is conducted prior to fitting a growth model to hierarchically nested data. Or is the nested structure completely handled by the growth model. Thanks |

When data are in the wide format, clustering due to individuals and time are automatically taken care of by multivariate modeling. |

See either the Bollen and Curran growth modeling book or the Raudenbush and Bryk multilevel book where the multivariate approach is discussed. |
