Hello,

I have read from various sources that a minimum of 4 time points is recommended for GMM, but have not found a consistent answer with regards to LCGA - if the model is identified with 3 time points, is there still a reason for having a minimum of 4 time points?

Thank you!

With LCGA, there are fewer model parameters so you could use fewer time points as far as model identification goes. However, with less than four, I would think it might be hard to see much of a trend.
