Dear Linda,

I wonder if it makes sense to include additional variables in a LGC model when the slope turned out with a non-significant mean and variance ( i.e, no growth)?
Is it possible that these demographic variables would have an impact on the intercept and slope even though?

You can regress the growth factors on covariates even if the growth factor variances are not shown to be significantly different from zero. Adding the covariates may bring more power.
