Dear Professor,

With EFA and CFA, I recently reduced a 21 item scale to a 11 item scale, but would now like to:
1-explain the %variance by the reduced items scale.
2-run a multiple regression with the reduce items as predictors of the original scale

Any leads on how to write the syntax?
Will the categorical nature of my scale affect my output?
PS: all scales are graded categorically.
e.g Full scale (a, b, c, d, e, f, h)
e.g Reduced scale (a, c, e)

This question is more appropriate for a general discussion forum like SEMNET.
