Hello,

I am testing a SEM with 2 DVs, 2 mediators, and 8 IVs composed of 59 categorical observed variables.

I receive the error below:
WARNING: THE LATENT VARIABLE COVARIANCE MATRIX (PSI) IS NOT POSITIVE
DEFINITE.THIS COULD INDICATE A NEGATIVE VARIANCE/RESIDUAL VARIANCE FOR A
LATENT VARIABLE, A CORRELATION GREATER OR EQUAL TO ONE BETWEEN TWO LATENT VARIABLES, OR A LINEAR DEPENDENCY AMONG MORE THAN TWO LATENT VARIABLES.CHECK THE TECH4 OUTPUT FOR MORE INFORMATION.PROBLEM INVOLVING VARIABLE WSAT."

I've checked TECH4 and the residual is WSAT=-0.123.

WSAT is one of DVs. What should I do to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

This message means the model is inadmissible and needs to be changed. I would not fix a residual variance that large to zero.
