I have a question about the WLSMV. I understand the differences between WLS, WLSM & WLSMV from reading the discussion board.

What I don’t fully understand is how does the addition of Variance adjust the calcuslations? Am I correct in saying that the standard errors wouldn’t be any different from the WLSM-robust standard errors and that just associated fit indices which use chi-sq. in the calculations would be affected with this technique?
And, from page 39 of the manual – WLSMV is the default. Is this default new with version 2?

Your understanding is correct. WLSMV has been the default since Version 1 first came out.
