Hello,

Before defining my variables as categorical, my model was able to produce standardized results. After defining several (but not all) variables as categorical, the output only provides unstandardized and standardized estimates with no significance tests in the standardized model results. I have have tried requesting both STD and STDYX outputs. There are no obvious errors in the output indicating that the model was not able to standardize.

Thank you in advance for your expertise and assistance,

Mike

With weighted least squares and covariates we do not give standard errors for standardized coefficients.

Dear Dr Muthen,

What standardised estimates would you recommend for categorical dependent variables? All three types of standardisation seem applicable only for continuous dependent variables as the change in y is described in standard deviations.

Thank you for your advice.

For binary covariates, use StdY. For continuous covariates, use StdYX. The scale of the dependent variable does not matter.
