Hi i would like to get odds ratios for my categorical models, but the program (in my experience) won't output those for nested models, which is what I need to use. Can I just get the odds ratios by exponentiating the betas? Or is there a way to get the program to output the OR with categorical nested models?

I think you are getting the odds ratio for the within part of the model but not for the between part of the model. This is because the between part of the model uses the random intercept of the within-level categorical variable. This is a continuous variable so odds ratios are not relevant.
