hi, i am fairly new at path analysis and mplus, i need to do a path analysis. where x, is a nominal variable, z, is a continuous variable w is a categorical variable and y is a dichotomous categorical variable. could you advise me on what i should do.

You use the NOMINAL option for a nominal dependent variable and the CATEGORICAL option for binary or ordered polytomous dependent variable. The scale of observed exogenous variables do not need to be specified. See Example 3.15 in the user's guide.
