I'm trying to run a dynamic factor analysis model (as illustrated by Example 6.26 in the MPlus manual), but I'm receiving the following error and I'm not sure why:

data: file is P002.dat;
variable: names are happy sad
angry content afraid
lonely relaxed tired
anxious positive
percent interf
upset wcontent tension
difficult control concen
mustens fatigue irrit
sleep restless avoid
prepare procrast reassur;

usevariables are upset wcontent concen
mustens fatigue irrit sleep
restless avoid prepare procrast reassur;
missing are ALL (999);

analysis: ESTIMATOR = BAYES;
PROCESSORS = 2;
BITERATIONS = (2000);

model:
a by upset wcontent irrit avoid
prepare reassur (&1);
b by mustens fatigue sleep restless (&1);
c by concen procrast (&1);

a on a&1;

OUTPUT: TECH1 TECH8;
PLOT: TYPE = PLOT3;

*** ERROR in MODEL command
Unknown variable(s) in an ON statement: A&1

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try putting all the loadings for the a factor on the same line so that the (&1) is at the end of the first line.

I still receive the same error:

model:
a by upset wcontent irrit avoid prepare reassur (&1);
b by mustens fatigue sleep restless (&1);
c by concen procrast (&1);

a on a&1;

OUTPUT: TECH1 TECH8;
PLOT: TYPE = PLOT3;

*** ERROR in MODEL command
Unknown variable(s) in an ON statement: A&1

Please send the full output to Support so we can investigate.
