I am working to conduct a factor analysis with item level data, some of the items are reverse scored. The CFA results (even with a methods factor) are not fitting well and the modindices is giving a lot of suggestions - this gets tricky as cross-loading does not work well in this case. I am wondering if there is a way to run an EFA with a methods factor that I could have load on just the reverse scored items. Otherwise, when I run an EFA I am having the problem people usually have - one factor is just the reverse scored items. I am looking for anyway that I might avoid this in the EFA. Thanks! |

Try a modification of UG ex 5.30 which combines CFA and EFA using ESEM. |
