I am hoping someone can help me. I need to run a number of CFA analyses with ordinal data and complex survey design weights in Mplus. However, when inputting my data I received an error that “One or more variables have a variance greater than the maximum allowed of 1000000.” When I examined my output file, I found that the problem is with the ID variable and one of the survey weights:

**GSWGT134 12288 **********
**AID 12288 **********

I tried to create a new ID starting at 1, but I received the same error. So I multiplied ID by .1 and that worked to reduce the variance, but I am wary of messing with the survey weight. The weights range from 16.xxxx to 6649.xxxx.

Can anyone recommend steps that I can take to address the variance issue with weight variables?

Thank you.

Thank you, I will get the license number from my university and send my question to support. Unfortunately I cannot send any of the files because they are restricted data.
