Dear Mplus team, I am testing the metric inv. Below is my syntax and error message: ANALYSIS: WLSMV and THETA; !MODEL1: Reference Group (MALE) STI_S_S BY S_1* S_2* S_6* S_7* S_8* S_12* S_14* S_15* S_18* S_20* S_21*; STI_S_C BY S_3* S_4* S_5* S_9* S_10* S_11* S_13* S_16* S_17*S_19*; [S_1$1-S_21$1]; [S_1$2-S_21$2]; [S_1$3-S_21$3]; [STI_S_S@0]; [STI_S_C@0]; STI_S_S@1; STI_S_C@1; S_1-S_21@1; !Model 2 MODEL FEMALE: like in Male [S_1$1-S_21$1]; [S_1$2-S_21$2]; [S_1$3-S_21$3]; [STI_S_S@0]; [STI_S_C@0]; STI_S_S*; STI_S_C*; S_1-S_21@1; THE STANDARD ERRORS OF THE MODEL PARAMETER ESTIMATES COULD NOT BE COMPUTED. THE MODEL MAY NOT BE IDENTIFIED. CHECK YOUR MODEL. PROBLEM INVOLVING PARAMETER 86. Does this input look correct? Also, how would I set up the model to examine metric invariance? |

The metric model for ordered categorical variables is discussed on pages 544-545 of the Version 8 User's Guide on our website. |
